Why Catholics Should Not Participate in Kwanzaa: The Daniel Standard.
(please see link above for full article)
Lacey says:
This picture & caption is what elicited my comment (after copy / pasted article) as I thought is was quite insightful and fitting in today’s capitalistic society that we Americans live in.
Our Why I am Pulling My Daughter From Public School “Winter Concert” Kwanzaa for the most part elicited the expected responses from proponents of Political Correctness, Multiculturalism, Marxism, Black Liberation Theology, Moral and Ethical Relativism.
The responses that gave us pause and the impetus to follow up with this post came from the heretical 1960-70’s liberal apostasy movement adherents still present within the Catholic Church today.
To begin our readers must fully grasp the fact that Kwanzaa is not a religion nor is it a cultural movement, although it does camouflage itself as so when it is to its benefit to do so. Kwanzaa is a political movement, Black Liberation Theology Marxism to be exact. A tool used in the public arena, government (public) schools to indoctrinate our children in the battle for their minds and for us Catholics…their Souls.
The goals of the Radical Marxists of Kwanzaa are to remove Christ and Christianity from society to be replaced with the Worship of Self and Man with Government as god. In cases where this is not attainable they seek to subordinate Jesus, Christmas and Christianity through Diversity and Social Justice programs.
To appear seemingly harmless, Kwanzaa deploys many politically correct multiculturalist euphemisms to mask its true intentions. Kwanzaa, created in 1966 by Dr. Maulana Karenga, professor of Africana Studies at California State University, Long Beach, author and scholar-activist is a Marxist, Black Liberation Theology Socio-Political event with a forty-five (45) year history.
What are we as Catholics to do?
Daniel offers us an excellent Faith Action Model in as much as while in captivity he received an education (government school) learning the attributes of his enemies yet remaining faithful to God. Daniel drew the line at participating in official, sanctioned and mandated events, ceremonies, celebrations and practices because it would have been idolatry, worshipping false, government-sanctioned gods.
For Catholics that find themselves in government (public) schools Kwanzaa as well as other anti-Christian curriculums will be taught.
It is the moral and ethical duty of Catholic parents to teach their children before they are exposed to and indoctrinated by proponents of Political Correctness, Multiculturalism, Marxism, Black Liberation Theology, Moral and Ethical Relativism, their Catholic Faith.
Secondly, it is the duty of Catholic parents not to allow their children to participate in events such as ‘Winter Concerts’ that are not direct celebrations of the Birth of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (Christmas) and/or The Festival of Lights (Hanukah) or includes any promotion/celebration of Kwanzaa in any manner. Recall Daniel would not eat the meat sacrificed to the idols, to allow Catholic children to participate in such events as the ‘Winter Concerts’ takes away from Christ and Christmas at which point our children are engaged in worshiping idols, false gods, through readings/song/dance/costumes, the god of the Radical Marxists of Kwanza: Self and Man with Government as god.
Does that mean your children do not write Santa a “Whish” letter or take a picture with Santa at the mall? For that matter the whole Christmas holiday is a commercialized travesty of what Christmas is supposed to represent in the first place.
It is your right to expose your children OR NOT to the many varied religious, political and social activities sprouting out every day it seems BUT keep in mind that wether or not they participate in the events, they will still be exposed and now will also be segregated as well from the other children.
I totally understand your stand and somewhat agree with it, to the extent that political views have infiltrated so many religious celebrations but at the same time I think viewing religion as NOT being political is a little hypocritical as so many wars have been fought in the name of religious belief and NOTHING says political more then a country sending their citizens out to die in the name of god, no matter what god they THINK they are fighting for.
Though I applaud your stand on following your beliefs and not wanting your children to stand up for something you feel so strongly against.
Sincerely, Lacey…

St. Nicholas: The Original Santa Claus
There is a huge difference between Santa and St. Nicholas. Saint Nicholas POINTS to Christ while ‘Santa’ is a perversion of St. Nicholas POINTING away from Christ towards the commercialization of Christmas.
He was very well brought up, we are told, by pious and virtuous parents, who set him to studying the sacred books at the age of five. His parents died while he was still young, leaving him with a comfortable fortune, which he resolved to use for works of charity. Soon an opportunity came. A citizen of Patara had lost all his money and his three daughters could not find husbands because of their poverty. In despair their wretched father was about to commit them to a life of shame. When Nicholas heard of this, he took a bag of gold and at night tossed it through an open window of the man’s house. Here was a dowry for the eldest girl, and she was quickly married. Nicholas did the same for the second and then for the third daughter. On the last occasion the father was watching by the window, and overwhelmed his young benefactor with gratitude.

Gospel According to Saint John
You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and he stood not in the truth; because truth is not in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father thereof. [John 8:44] [Latin] [45] But if I say the truth, you believe me not.

Lest perhaps there should be among you a man or a woman, a family or a tribe, whose heart is turned away this day from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of those nations: and there should be among you a root bringing forth gall and bitterness.

Do I think Santa Claus is a commercialization of a sacred religious celebration? YES!
Do I think Santa Claus is a perversion of St-Nicholas? NO!
The reason I say this is because I do not feel that our society intended to corrupt its citizen when they introduced Santa Claus. It was a gimmick and yes I do acknolwledge that they used a good man’s name in order to create a character but to say it is perverse I would say is pushing it a little.
I do not beleive people worship Santa or pray to him. He is not a false god and is not used as an idol. He is a character that little kids see as fun, loving and the bringer of presents. Making a wish to Santa is NOT praying to God, it’s just a fantasy; a fun way of whishing for something that is oftentimes frivolous and well…fun!
